From a young age, I had a sense of what it might mean and how it might feel to sense and move the energies of my spirit. It’s difficult to explain how it feels except to call it an awareness of one’s own spiritual magnetism and to have an uncanny tactile sense of the field it refers to. To understand what I mean, it may be helpful to consider Rupert Sheldrake’s idea of the Morphic Field.

This field is a sphere of spiritual/magnetic resonance which I believe most mystics would call the soul or the aura. There is a saying among mystics that the body is inside the soul and not the other way around. This might help you visualize what we’re talking about.

The way I became aware of my own “morphic field” was by looking at other people’s faces, how they held their bodies, and how they spoke and thought. I tried to imagine how it would feel to be them. I imagined how their faces, with their different proportions, must feel. One person has heavier cheeks than another or a heavier brow, nose, and so on. This means, with weight distributed differently, one person’s face will feel different from another’s. Wind moving across one face shape would feel subtly different from how another face would feel it. 

In similar ways, one person’s body will feel different from others. The contours of an individual’s mind will also be unique and have a distinct feel to it. A good place to begin might be to just imagine how it would feel to wear another person’s face. That will give you an insight into the shape of their mind, of which you can develop a sense.

But we also have clues about how spiritual energies might look. In my meditations, I often see swirling, moving lights and bands of energy. I can feel them and they seem to respond to my feelings and intention, but they never respond to direct attempts to control them. They have a magnetic feeling and they look almost exactly like the Aurora Borealis, or Northern Lights, which is pretty damned interesting.

Beginning Practice

The easiest place to begin feeling energy is usually in the hands. Start by holding your dominant hand up in front of you and imagine a ball of heat forming inside your hand just behind the skin of the palm. You should be able to sense the warmth immediately.

Concentrate on feeling the warmth. Imagine a red, pulsing orb. Now, grow that orb until it encompasses your entire hand. Place your palms close together and imagine the lighted heat move from one hand to the other. Let the heat grow as you hold it between your hands. Move it around, feel it like you might feel around the repulsion between two magnets. Try to be aware of the magnetism all around the heated light. It can be any color you want, I just find that red works with the sensation of heat and is helpful for that reason.

Now, take the time to move the ball of heat around your body. Sitting up or laying down, move the ball of awareness around your body. Focus on being aware of the bones, organs, and tissues it is touching wherever it goes. This awareness will create a sensation all its own. The sensation of awareness inside your orb of heat should be a subtle form of tingling. This is the sensation we are looking for.

Your challenge will be to practice playing with this sensation of awareness. Practice moving it around your body every time you lay down and go to sleep. As you do, pay attention to the space behind your closed eyes. Be ready to see and feel moving bands of energy. Keep, in mind, these are not the blood vessels you see when you look at the blue sky for too long. The two things look quite different, and you shouldn’t have any trouble telling the difference.

As you do this, know that your body will tend to boost circulation to the area where your awareness travels. This is part of how the placebo effect causes measurable healing.

Practice growing this awareness control until you can feel it all over your body instantly and at will. It may take years, but the practice is easy. Just do it each time you lay down at night. Eventually, or maybe instantly, you will master this. It’s all up to your willingness and the strength of the Love in your heart center.

Further Practice

Once you learn to sense and become familiar with the feeling of awareness in your body, you will grow in your ability to engage in other spiritual exercises. I’ll give a couple of examples.

In a guided meditation by Hira Hosen, we learn how to send love and gratitude to Mother Earth and Father Sky. When you do this meditation, you will get a direct response from your Divine mother and father. If you do it correctly, you can expect to be grinning like an idiot after your divine carers blast you with their Love. Doing this in earnest and in good faith is a sure way to get a strong impression of how spirit moves and feels.

Also, Hira Hosen is a teacher worth spending some time with, so please enjoy the teaching on her YouTube channel. When you do this meditation, you will learn that we are never alone and we are deeply loved by beings I believe the Creator has put in place to teach and heal us.

Finally, there is “grounding.” This is when we go outside barefoot and stand on the naked earth. There is absolutely zero woo-woo here. When you do this, electrons from the Earth will course up into your body. This charges your nervous system, making your pulse and respiration easier and more complete, boosting your cardiovascular health at the same time. The energy Nicola Tesla powered light bulbs with comes from this same field. The charge your body takes on has been empirically measured as have the beneficial effects on your health. There’s nothing intangible about it at all. It’s just occulted because the Top Assholes don’t want us to be strong.

If you practice the energy-feeling exercises I’ve explained here, then when you stand barefoot on the soil, you will know how to feel the energy Mother Earth sends up your body. In meditation, I sometimes ask Mother Earth for this energy, and she gives it liberally and instantly. But standing outdoors might be easier for you to believe in early on.

Practice feeling your own soul daily. You can do it any time you think about it. It doesn’t have to get in the way of your activities at all. But the more attention you put into it, the more Spirit will respect your efforts. So keep that in mind. Remember, what we’re accessing here is true power, and it means the difference between being counted among the Dead and being truly Awakened.
